Better late than never, huh? Since it's already Monday night, I'll skip to Tuesday.
So we went to Skate Park last Wed. and the kids are begging to go back! We did lots of riding, playing on the playground, and even digging castles in the sand. Plus we left with enough skinned body parts to prove we had fun (you know, it's never truly fun unless someone gets hurt... but everyone left smiling!)
Tuesday:
10 am How to Train Your Dragon at the Bountiful Cinemark (only $1 a person)
3 pm Capoeria at the Centerville Public Library. We saw this at the downtown SLC last year, and I hope it is the same group... it was so cool! It's Brazilian martial arts.
8 pm Joshua Creek at the Concerts in the Park, downtown SLC Brigham Young Park. Dang it, I love this group, but have something else going on that night!
Wed.
11 am Meet us at Castle Park, located on Nicholls Road, right off of 89. Super fun park... has a place for little ones to play, and has a big, well, castle, really, for the older kids.
Thursday
Gateway has it's free concerts in the evening. Plus, you can always cool off in the fountains.
Friday
10 am-11 am Summer literacy program at Mills Park in Woods Cross. Free program with snacks, crafts, and reading. Often, kids will even get a free book. You can stop at Washington Elementary School on your way back for a free lunch, too. That way, if the kids fall asleep in the car afterwards, you can put them straight to bed!
8pm Mercy River at the Concerts in the Park, downtown SLC Brigham Young Park. We went to the concert last Friday night and had so much fun laying in the grass.
Free Chalk Festival at Gateway Friday and Saturday. Pretty cool. I've wanted to go for a couple years now and something always comes up.
Sat.
morning: the Farmer's Market opened at Pioneer Park. Whoohoo!
1-4pm Museum of Fine Art has their free day, exploring jigsaw puzzles. My kids always enjoy going. There is a craft that they can do, plus they usually have other activities to do, too.
